RJ45 Connectors

RJ45 Connectors are used to establish connections between Ethernet Cables and equipment to transfer data across the network. Ethernet cable consists of four twisted pairs of wires, each pair is separately insulated.

While buying RJ45 connectors, you need to ensure that the connector is compatible with the type of ethernet cable you are using. There are two type of cables used commonly, cat5e and cat6. Each cable has different characteristic and performance.

Cat5e and RJ45 connectors are designed to work for Cat5e ethernet cables and are commonly used in home and small office networks. Respectively, Cat6 RJ45 Connectors are used with Cat6 ethernet cables. These connectors have pins arranged in modular configuration and each pin connects with eight wire inside the cable. The connector is usually made of plastic or metal and many connectors have locking tabs for secure connection.
